Hey, I’m Brianna! I’m a creatively inclined, travel-loving health enthusiast who also enjoys writing the occasional poem or guide on how to properly sing in the shower.
When I was younger, I hated my freckles. I longed for the spotless, unblemished skin of magazine models that made them look so elegant and mature. A few years later, all those models were suddenly replaced with freckled women in magazines, store posters and even on TV. Freckles were “in” and I was part of the trend.
However, instead of being excited about my en vogue feature, my eyes were opened to the absurdity of a trending skin type—really, society? In that moment, I decided to stop buying into trends based on intrinsic features that I had not control over. I unknowingly started a lifelong journey of self-acceptance and free-thinking. My splattered skin was mine. And I was going to love it whether my skin was “in” or “so last season.”
Years later, I started dating a guy who fell victim to my drop-dead cute freckles. We’re now happily married and creating new adventures for ourselves every day.
It’s still a work in progress, but more and more I’m celebrating uniqueness, self-acceptance and pursuing happiness whether that’s through travel escapades or health and wellness aspirations. Thank you for joining me in the journey!
